A new path

Today we began a new path as far as training for Sienna goes.

We got the results back and Sienna’s left hip came back with “mild hip dysplasia” which means that I can’t breed her. So she is now fixed and working on her certification as a Therapy Dog. And lucky her, I’m her partner. Together we are taking an 8 week course to learn how to give comfort to those who are sick, hurting, healing or dying. Today was our first class and I enjoyed it immensely, I think she enjoyed getting the attention. I really believe that this is going to be a fantastic thing for her, she is so loving and nurturing to people that I think that she will excel in this program. And, even though I think she is the most beautiful and obedient Chessie ever, it doesn’t matter here. Looks don’t count and while she needs to be well behaved, there will be times when her goofy behavior will be just the medicine the doctor ordered.

I do have one question though, if we are partners and we are going through this together, then why to I have the homework assignment?
